Les Deux Alpes - ski resort

Les Deux Alpes - a ski resort

Altitude: 3600 m

Length of ski runs: 225 km

Number of lifts: 46

Number of slopes: 34 km black, 56 km red, 110 km blue, 25 km green

The ski area is open all year round and the glacier is skiable! The Dome Express, France's highest glacier cableway, opened in 1989, starts at 3200 m and ends at a magnificent ice cave. With green and blue runs on the glacier, even the most insecure skiers can enjoy breathtaking views from 3600m.

What else should you see in Les Deux Alpes?

Ice cave

Les 2 Alpes has a fabulous ice cave at 3200m, next to the starting point of the glacier railway.

The 200m-long tunnel features hand-carved ice sculptures by two high mountain guides, Bernard Lambolez and Bruno Gardent. Its mystical euphoria is further enhanced by the fact that you can admire up to 1000-year-old ice block motifs on your underground walk.

Belvédère des Ecrins

At an height of 3,400m, this panoramic belveder offers one of the most spectacular views of the French Alps, where you can look down an iron footbridge into the distance of the peaks or even into the depths below. In clear weather, you can even reach the summit of Mont Blanc!

Access to the belveder: after the Jandri Express I and II cable cars, take the highest glacier railway in France, the final destination of which is a pleasant 10-minute walk from the viewpoint.
